Rio Rancho truly has it all for the family that loves to go outdoors year-round.  There’s really no shortage of beautiful parks, walking trails, or bike paths. Unlike our indoor activity guide, in this guide, we highlight some of the best things to do outside in and around Rio Rancho.

Aug. 20 – Sept. 5, 2016  (recreation swim Saturdays and Sundays only, as well as Labor Day on Sept. 5, from noon to 6 p.m.)

The daily fee to use any of the outdoor pools is $4. The fee for children ages 2 to 12 as well as adults 55 years of age and older is $3 per day.

ABQ BioPark

The Albuquerque Biological Park is an environmental museum located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It contains four separate facilities with combo tickets available to purchase to visit them all.

Although it’s technically an “indoor” activity, the aquarium is part of the ABQ BioPark so we included it here. Located next to the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Take a journey down the Rio Grande from Albuquerque to the Gulf of Mexico, visiting aquatic animals along the way.
